The HD stands for heavy duty and we mean it. This knife is one stout chunk of razor sharp steel that will take an absolute beating and gladly ask for more. The full profile tang is strong & comfortable, and gives a very secure grip with the attractive hand-stitched, heavy grade genuine leather wrap. Hammer pommel is blackened steel. Hand forged, high carbon steel blade. Includes genuine leather belt sheath.

Tough guy
Handsome, rugged, capable - but not necessarily suited to brain surgery. Like many good men. The modest price might encourage rough treatment like batonning or digging in rocky ground. It will hold up very well. The leather wrapped handle provides traction, comfort as well as dressing up its steely core. Weight worth carrying along on any hike or outing.

Just received this blade and really like the 'heft' of the knife. the leather wrapped handle is very nice the sheath while nice and substantial, the leather threading at the beginning and end is simply glued instead of end wrapping to ensure the sheath doesn't come apart. good blade

A great knife for a great price. A beast of a blade. The thick spine will take a beating and come back for more.
The leather wrap on the full tang is comfortable and will only become more so with use.
The leather sheath is also of good quality.
All in all, a quality camp knife or all around tool. Will take a useful, but not shaving, edge.

This knife is actually thicker than my large fixed blades. The thickness combined with it's thin edge means that it can be used as butcher knife.I used it to dress a Squirrel. The HD would actually make a great gift because the tip is not pointed. Using leather as handle wrap is a great idea, every time I use it I think of a smelly Mexican Boot shop.

Really heavy duty- one solid piece of steel. Can take much, punishment. Easy to sharpen, leather sheath & grip wrap are of good quality ( I treat most of my leather items). Good for hunting- camping /work, will not chop or break. Very, good price for this functional knife: not meant for looks ( &, sharp). Who wants a knife one has to pamper?!
