US Vietnam Advisers Hat

This hat style was worn by early Vietnam advisers and Special Forces and was styled on the French Mle 1949 pattern. A rare style, our high quality replica matches the details and material of those originals.

Made like the originals in a circular weave pattern for strength, this has the proper batting and screened mesh grommeted vents. When you turned the hat inside out the bright lining allowed helicopters and aircraft a good visual aid to show “friendly” troops during air strikes or medivac missions. Made of heavy weight cotton in O.D. green with chin tie and air vents, it comes with a Saigon facsimile label of the period. Choose from sizes 7-1/4, 7-1/2", 7-5/8" or 7-3/4".
