OVERVIEW
The current flag of the United States consists of 13 stripes, alternate red and white, representing the 13 original colonies/states. The canton consists of a blue field containing a white star for every state in the union. The 27th flag of the United States became the official flag on July 4th, 1960. Hawaii was admitted as the 50th state on August 21st, 1959 and this 50-Star Flag, by Executive Order of President Eisenhower (dated August 21, 1959) provided for the arrangement of the stars in nine rows of stars staggered horizon tally and eleven rows of stars staggered vertically.
This flag measures 3' x 5' and is double sided with 2 metal grommets.
