Throwing knives and knives that can be thrown
Well, there are throwing knives and knives that can be thrown. This falls into the later category. It IS a bowie. It CAN be thrown. But don't assume that it is the best tool for that job. SZCO make a decent cheap knife and the blade is durable enough but it took about 6-7 throws to turn the crappy brass cross to turn into a rattle trap.
(BTW one rotation is about 11-12 ft).
If you are looking for a thrower, look around at different options.

I have had one for 15yrs that hasn't seen much action. I rediscovered it when my son got into knife throwing and it has been a blast. It really sinks into pressure treated wood targets.

Well made and heavy duty. It is fairly sharp but you can refine the edge. The leather sheath is pretty good also.

Bought one of these some years ago when they sold 2 for like $40 or so, not the best bowie Ive gotten from ACC, but it works. A pity they switched from the carbon to stainless!
These are a knockoff copy of the old Western W49- I would never subject a W49 to the kind of abuse a throwing knife gets... These can serve as a carry knife as well as a "thrower" but not sure what kind of edge these stainless ones will hold..

Bought this for one of my sons. He loved it and threw it at everything in his path. When he realized how indestructible it was, he valued it so much, he stopped throwing it! Lol

I had this knife in the past and I would love to get my hands on another. I live in NY. Why do you have to call this a throwing knife? This is a work knife. Change the description please!! I would love to order one for me and one for my brother.

My friend bought this for me for a Christmas present. Amazing knife, saved me from being mugged just from sheer size alone. Very fun thrower and looks amazing!

I wrapped the handle with duct tape and put put some more just under the cross bar. That way while throwing the handle is protected and the cross bar is stabilized when throws hit wrong. Spin or no-spin. Once you get consistent you can take the tape off. With this in mind this is an excellent throwing knife!

I have two of these. They look pretty good. I did get them from Atlanta cutlery. For the price they are pretty good. I had to put on a sharp edge. After that they hit well. and stick tight to the target.

Very good looking knife but the handle and hand gaurd basically get in my way so i stripped it down and wrapped it with paracord. it would be nice if this website sold just the blade with out the wood handle and hand gaurd

I got this Bowie to practice my straight throwing technique. It is a great throwing knife except the cross bar detached from the handle when it hit the target funny. I may just cut it off like someone else suggested. The scabbard is on the cheaper side, but for the price it is great! I am definitely going to buy this knife again once I get better at throwing. This is the best bowie knife on the knife market. Anyone who feels the weight of this knife in their hand would realize what I am saying. Other knife companies sell a knife like this under the name of "The Classic Bowie". It is not sold as a throwing knife by any other company. The factory edge on this knife does need sharpening.
