Railroad Spike Dagger

After forging my own spike knife, I can appreciate the work that goes into it. This dagger has a well thought out design, from the ergonomic twisted handle, to the curve from handle thickness to the blade width. Well done!

I had a feeling about this new product and I was proven satisfied. This is a very pleasing dagger with an ergonomically friendly handle, good balance and heft. Double edged Sharp, and more attractive than it has any right to be given it's made from a railroad spike. But frankly, That's What attracted me to it and I like it much better than the other one piece models. There's something organic about making this strong item from an old Spike. Couldn't be happier. And the price is right.

This knife turned out to be better than I expected.  It's solid, heavy, and well balanced.  With a little "tuning up" this is an excellent outdoor, every day knife.  we now have 3 of them.

I was not expecting too much with this knife... Wow, I was wrong to think that.  The weight, the quality and the overall look of this piece is in a word, amazing!

Let's start with the shipping department. They did a great job in securely packaging this knife and got it it off in record time.
As it comes from the manufacturer, the knife is inside a very heavy plastic bag. It is completely covered in oil and there was not a speck of rust on the knife anywhere. On the exterior of the wrapping at the blade point is a triangle of soft plastic that's about an inch long and slides over the tip of the blade. Have paper towels near you when you unbag the knife - it's oily! After cleaning the knife thoroughly I was really impressed with how it felt in my hand. It was as if this knife were custom-made for me. It fits my hand and balances perfectly. I wanted to see what kind of rough use it could take and took a can of soup and positioned the tip along the rim and gave it a good solid whack with the heel of my hand on the flat hilt. It easily punctured the soup can and when I walked it along the lid it cut quite easily.
I next sliced a small, recently fallen tree limb into thin strips of tinder. The edge I was using on this double edged knife is holding up just fine. I'm going to slice up a bunch of cardboard boxes today before I burn them and then hone the blade.
The sheath belies the $20 price point for this knife. It's well-made and securely holds the blade while still allowing you to get all four fingers on the hilt. There's a bit of space between the tip of the knife and the bottom of the sheath and the edges do not come in contact with the sides of the sheath. This alone will add to the longevity of the sheath. The loop on the sheath will easily handle a 2 and 3/4 inch belt. The sheath is double-stitched but I can't tell by feeling what material the stitching is. I may put a few rivets in just to be on the safe side. The sheath is a nice looking brown leather but I wish it were black leather.
Overall I'm thoroughly impressed with this knife and sheath. I'm going to have to buy a few more of this company's products.

This dagger is awesome. Very heavy. Single piece construction. Great knife for odd jobs and looks great.

Everything I'd hoped for and more.  Should be able to pass this down for Generations.

The knife is very solid and well made from a railroad spike, the leather sheath is durable does not have a flimsy feel at all, the edge is nice and sharp out of the box, of course, I'll bring it to razor sharpness.
