Fit for purpose.
I walk with a cane since my hip replacement, and the city hospital is in the midst of homeless shelters and buyers, sellers, and nodders all the way from the bus stop to the hospital. Thus far I have only been accosted verbally, but I feel safer with one of these on each hip clipped to my skirt under my blouse. They are exactly long enough to still be "legal" in my city.
