OVERVIEW

The Scallion is already one of Kershaw's most popular knives, but we thought we'd step it up by giving this Scallion some great-looking, black aluminum handle scales. The oh-so-handy 2 1/4-inch blade stays the same, ensuring that this is right-sized for lightweight and convenient carry in pocket, purse, or backpack.

The blade steel is high-carbon stainless steel that gives you good edge retention and excellent corrosion resistance. We've stonewashed the blade to give it a soft, matte look and make it easier to maintain. Whether you're left-handed or right-handed, the Scallion is quick and easy to open thanks to SpeedSafe assisted opening and the Scallion's ambidextrous flipper. Just pull back on the flipper and the blade moves out of the handle, ready for use. The Scallion’s handle scales are anodized aluminum over stainless steel liners. Anodizing enables the aluminum to resist scratching. Even better, anodizing actually strengthens the aluminum so you get a handle that's strong, lightweight, and colorful.

For safety, it has a locking liner to keep it safely open and a Tip-Lock to keep it locked safely closed during transport.

Love this
I have carried the Scallion in my pocket every single day since 2006. I use it for everything from cutting open boxes, to eating needs, and I even use it for anxiety relief (like a fidget spinner). It has never failed.  I am on my third one now. The first, just as you see in the picture, was dropped into a shipping container and shipped to  Taiwan. The second, had a serrated back half of the blade. I still have it, but the belt clip screws came loose and the spring assist started to fail after years of use. My third now has a bent tip and a weak spring assist. I swear by this knife,  I write this review because it’s a great product, but I didn’t pay $82.9’7 for all three, and I fail to see why this costs that much.
