KA-BAR Red Spacer Fighting Knife

KA-BAR made a few of their first WWII fighting knives with red spacers, making those early examples highly collectible. The first production run was shipped by Camillus Cutlery on January 23, 1943 (interesting fact: the co-designer was Major America). KA-BAR's "State & Union" shop has created a small number of exact replicas, with leather washers that are shaped by hand and dyed to create an aged finish. The red spacers match the originals; they provide a wider grip at the guard than the current issue knife. The blade is sandblasted then cold gun blued. The pommel is ground to the dimensions of the original. The leather sheath is aged like the handle to match the original 1943 sheath color. And, of course, the knife and sheath are made in America. The clip point 1095 Cro-Van steel blade Rockwells at 56-58. A perfect addition to any collection of important US military knives.
