Honshu Boshin Katana

I bought this and the wakizashi at the same time, The katana was dull like a stage sword. I could run my finger down the edge and do nothing more than dent the skin. also poor balance, blade heavy. The wakizashi was great . A much better Choice.

I own a couple other Katanas and I like this one quite well.  I like the mix of the traditional with the contemporary.  One request I have, since I also bought the Wakizashi, is to see a companion traditional knife offered.

Pretty solid piece of work but there seems to be a slight give in the handle, which is something typically associated with purely decorative weapons so I assumed this wouldn't happen. I suppose it could be the grip is a little loose but I don't know.

The blade is pretty nice but it seems like someone gave up near the end of  buffering it; there are still rough areas along the blade so it's not completely smooth.

Overall though I'm pretty satisfied with it. The sheath is very nice it holds the blade nicely, requiring a bit of leverage with the thumb to remove it easily from the case, which I prefer in these types of blades.

I'm an edge perfectionist and normally can put a better edge on anything.  I buy a lot of edged weapons/machetes and this sword I feel no need to make the edge better which really surprises me.  This feels great in the hand and I've paid more than double this price for swords that needed work and don't equal this model.  LOVE IT!!!!
