OVERVIEW
At a recent auction, we came across an original and rare variant of the Fairbairn-Sykes Commando dagger. It had an aluminum grenade-style handle and Foreign Legion & paratrooper markings on the blade as well as the sheath. We were so taken by the feel and looks we replicated it exactly.
Our Foreign Legion Paratroopers Knife includes the sheath as issued with the original. The sharp, high carbon steel blade is blackened.

Good, with a little fix
Like one of the reviewers above, I like the knife, but found the grooves in the aluminum handle uncomfortable in my hand...the edges felt sharp. I spent a few minutes with a dremel tool and relieved the sharp edges a bit...not even actually visibly, and it was a big improvement! The knife is a nice addition to my collection that includes a copy of the Fairbairn-Sykes dagger and the V42 dagger.

Very nice
A long time ago I found a similar knife like this one but it was junk. The blade bent easily and forget sharpening it. This knife is a real high quality knife. I've seen real ones before.. this one looks and feels like the original. Impressive.

Another good fighting knife
Just received my paratrooper knife today. Love the handle with the machined grenade effect. Grips good with wet hands. I thought with the aluminum grip it would affect the balance. Not bad at all. Now, maybe Windlass will come out with a Marine Raider stiletto.

Quality Knife...but
I have several different versions of the Fairbairn-Sykes knife and the V42 that the US copied from it. This one is a nice addition to my collection, with one exception...the "grenade handle" is nicely made, but when the grooves were machined, no effort was made to relieve the edges of the grooves. As a result, it almost cuts into your hand when you grip it. If the handle were cast WITH the grooves, or if the edges of the grooves were relieved, I would like it a lot better.
