Greetings,

I just received my Bhojpure Khukuri blade a couple of days ago.

It arrived in a reasonable amount of time, and was very well packaged.

I would say that it is as advertised. I would have preferred better condition for the price, but that's not really a complaint. These blades are well forged, and I appreciate the fact that they are all made from native material, in the region of the knife's cultural origins.

I had debated buying one of these, over the years. I just wish I had done it sooner. Perhaps better selection would have yielded a better specimen for my purchase, but of course I will never know. Either way, I'm glad I finally got around to ordering one.

Right after I bought mine, the website listing went from "In Stock" to "Only Five Left". As I write this review the status for this item is "Only Four Left".

If you've been thinking about buying one of these, I would encourage you to go ahead and do so.

Very nice Bhojpure blade
Very nice kukri blade.  Came in a plastic bag with cosmoline on the blade.  Also had taped protection for the tang and point.  Came with a copy of a letter dated 2003 from the Royal Nepaese Army stating how the items were sold to Atlanta Cutlery and IMA.  The blade had some rust spots on it (which is to be expected).  It cleaned up well with some mineral spirts and a brass wire brush.  Of course, couldn't work all the rust spots out of the blade, but again that is to be expected.  A nice display piece !!

History for cheap.
I bought one of the bjojpure blades and combined it with a WW1 brass knucks trench knife handle. Awsome weapon. The blade was beautiful under the grease. I'm buying more before they are gone forever,

Antique bojpure blade
I bought this bojpure blade along with a longleaf blade. This bojpure is over an inch longer than the longleaf, and has a broader blade. It is about two inches longer than my modern production, traditional style kukri and has a much broader blade. It is far more imposing as a weapon. It is also made of a vastly tougher grade of steel. Harder than any weapon in my collection. I did not pay for hand selection, and this blade is in rough condition. The edge looks to have suffered major damage at some point and was crudely repaired. The tip is broken off. None of this detracts from this beautiful antique. I have attached a custom handle. I am leaving the heavy patina intact and will touch up the edge so that it will continue to live on as a fearsome weapon.

The blade was in great shape and well protected in grease.  Once it was cleaned up I took a file to the edge checking the temper.  The spine is soft and the edge was very hard, perfect for a big chopper.  The next few days were spent mounting it on a horn handle and making a leather sheath.  After putting a shaving sharp convex edge on the blade (which didn't take much) it was ready to go.  Oak, Hickory and Elm have been getting cleared off of our property ever since, the edge still shaves!

Unfortunately did not come with a kanzo (bolster) so it will be awhile before I try to assemble it.  But still worth every penny as they're not making any more of these.

This product did not please me .the blade has been scraped or/ or  sanded ,  then covered in sticky stuff like i have found on guns not old. also it has a major flaw at the blade tip  about 1/2 in back on both sides.  acc has done this to me before . not the way i did business  . i will keep the blade because i should have sent it back in a timely matter , my fault ,  not theirs . the blade is a 4 the service not so high  . i have ordered blades before and have excellent results. if you buy one i recommend that you inspect it immediately .

Last one I purchased Came out beautiful. Definitely an old combat used Kukri. Under the cosmolene & rust it was stamped in ancient Sanskrit. Sent a photo to a knife maker in Napol who was able to have it translated for me. It now has a beautiful antler handle and is very impressive. Thanks
