Very unhappy and disappointed
It didn’t go well. Even though your representative was very informative I had to wait a long, long time for the knife. I paid for it to be sharpened but only the upper 1/4 of the blade near the tip was sharp. The lower 1/3 didn’t even have a bevel. The sheath was damaged and I am not happy. I have been working on the knife a lot to get it as it should have been when it arrived. I have ordered other items from you and never had so many problems. I would have been better if ordered through BUDK. May never use you again.

I have always liked the look of this kukri. After much good experiences with the Windlass Genuine Gurkha Regimental Kukri, I decided to give this one a try earlier this year. I really like the extra inch on the blade, while the fullers make the overall weight lighter than the Regimental. Feels good in the hand. Can't wait to take this one out camping!

I've read the reviews and have wanted this for a long time. I finally got it as a birthday present and this is NO JOKE. Heavy duty beautiful blade and wood handle. Get the sharpening service and save yourself the effort. This is not a theatrical piece! It's not lightweight and it's a functional beast. The scabbard and frog are top quality leather. I have read that the blade rattles in the scabbard but this is due to the shape of it and the inside of the scabbard being lined with wood or you could cut yourself. I have no problem with this. You will not be disappointed with this blade!

The blade is thick and seems robust, I was expecting at least a semi sharp blade but it was completely unusable and took an extreme amount of sharpening and profiling just to get an edge. The small Karda knives are not heat treated and bend like thin tin with practically no effort and the red stain wipes off instantly.

All around and versatile blade.
Great knife for use around farms and ranches. Excellent when camping. A great chopper and can be sharpened for trimming etc.

What can I say. A beautiful functional piece of history that is ingrained in military history.

This is a decent Kukri. It is pretty heavy with a thick blade. Fit and finish is good for the price. Sheath is loose (very). If I had it to do over again, I would have it sharpened before shipment. It was a LOT harder to sharpen than I thought it would be. I haven't used it yet. I keep it by my bed.

Good Knife but the Scabbard...
This is a good kukri knife but the scabbard needs some work. The outside of the scabbard is good but there is to much space on the inside. There is to much height for the thickness of the blade. Bring that in for a slightly tighter fit. The 2 smaller blades are not bad but as usual one of them ,the karda (the small knife) is bent or warped. Just about any kukri I have bought the karda is like this.
Again, the knife is very well made but pay the extra to get it sharpened. It basically comes with a dull blade. It will take me a little work to sharpen it but once I get it sharp it will be sharp. For its size it is sort of lite, so if using it in the woods be careful of glancing blows. Not bad for the price.

Thank you for your purchase of our Windlass Kukri and for your review.
The scabbard is designed with a bit of a looser fit to help prevent forced insertion which can cause the tip of the curved blade to penetrate the scabbard and possibly cause injury.
These blades are used by many of our customers as collection pieces and therefore come standard with the 'factory edge'. As you note, we do offer a sharpening service that will put a fine, sharp edge on your Kukri or you can do that yourself as many of our customers choose.
Great knife for less than fifty bucks
I wanted a "tank knife" that was nice enough that I would want to use it, but not so nice that I wouldn't want to use it, if you know what I mean. I have been wearing this alternately with the officer's model around the house since Christmas. A couple days ago, I used this one to chop some wood in my yard to put in the fire pit, and it will still shave hair. There are surely more expensive offerings on the market, but this one is really hard to beat, especially for the price. And, the ACC sharpening service is totally worth it.

Just received my Assam Rifles kukri. It's beautiful. Workmanship is excellent. In fact the workmanship on this knife exceeds the workmanship on my regimental kukri which I also rated 5 stars. The sheath is a better design than the one that comes with the regimental kukri. Fit and finish is excellent and matches the online picture perfectly. I have a large hand and the handle fit my hand beautifully. I paid for sharpening and it came sharp. You can't go wrong with this knife.

Phenomenal product. This thing is closer to an axe than a knife, which I suppose is part of the idea. Of course, it's a formidable fighting knife, but I can't imagine taking anything else camping or hiking (especially in the US North East - maybe a machete if I were going to a jungle). Everything from tip to peen seems incredibly rigid. The handle is quite comfortable in the hand, and allows for a few different grips. I ordered mine unsharpened (as I wasn't sure if I'd use it for some live steel sparring, or as a knife), and it came very very dull at the tip and near the cutouts. It'll take some work to sharpen in those areas, but that's quite alright.
Unlike others, my scabbard came fairly snug, and wearing it on a belt, or tucked into a belt, I'm confident that the blade would not come free unless I wanted it to (mostly because of the shape).
I suppose my only real complaint would be the two little knives. They seem to be of a fairly low quality of manufacture, and material. One of mind came quite bent out of shape, and I bent it right back with almost no effort. I'm not sure that I would *ever* find a use for them, so as far as complaints go, it's very minor.
Overall, a fantastic buy, especially as a deal of the week.
My only regret was not buying two.

Well the blade is very thick . The lion on the butt is not recognizable due to the tang being flattened to hold the handle on. That being said I love it! I highly recommend that you pay the $5 to have it sharpened, I did not

Big awesome blade, fits extremely well in the hand. The handle seems sturdier on this one than the regular Gurkha kukri. My only issue is that I paid for sharpening and it wasn't very sharp. Great blade for the price, highly recommended.

Not bad for the price. The fit and finish on the brass pieces were a little rough but after I sharpened the blade I could cut through 1" & 1 1/2 bamboo with ease.

Let's get right to it: AWESOME KNIFE. Can we really call it a knife? I almost believe short-sword would be a more appropriate term of description/title. Whatever you want to call it, it's AWESOME. Very very happy. I ordered mine sharpened and while I cannot speak to my esteemed colleague who recently received his own kukri and didn't care for their sharpening job, I thought they did a commendable job on mine own kukri. Perhaps not a PERFECT job, but certainly better than I could do and I am happy. It is a bit of a cost but still, necessary in my opinion. This feels great, it has some serious heft but the heft is a good heft, it feels like it could do serious damage to whatever it connects with. You need to be CAREFUL! The real problem I encountered was I received two of the same "small utility knives" - I didn't receive one "karda" and one "Chakmak" - I received two identical knives- what I believe them to be are "kardas" - the karda is supposed to be a sharpened utility knife, and the chakmak is a steel burnishing blade (unsharpened). I believe these are SUPPOSED to be kardas but completely unsharpened edge, so useless really. Oh well, I bought it for the big kukri and sheath, not for two utility knives. Very happy. I couldn't decide on this "fuller-size" model and the smaller Officer's Kukri and I am glad I got this one.

I paid for a sharpened kukri but this one was not very sharp at all. Considering the cost of the sharpening relative to the price of the kukri I expected better. Also, doesn't exactly match the image.

I like the weight of this blade very much...lots of heft. The only things I would change are the brass fittings and the lack of a strap to secure the blades to the scabbard. I know the strap is not on the original kukris, but it would be a nice addition. As it stands, the main blade will come out very easily.
I have also had a small nail securing the brass tip of the scabbard come out already. I'll fix this myself with JB Weld or some other adhesive.

WOW! I wish I could say more. This fits my hand like no other. It is heavy, has good balance and will be my go-to camping and survival knife now. The sheath is well done and solid. Sharpening is spot on. WOW again. Good job folks.
