This scissors-style sharpener is fast and idiot-proof.  Just put a drop of honing oil in the bit and make several firm, slow strokes on the blade edge and you are good to go.  Way faster than sharpening stone.  Only drawback is that it cannot sharpen thick knives or anything that won't fit in the cut out, only applicable for regular knives.

As a carpet layer, I carried one of these in my tool pouch for at least 15-years.  When I switched from fixed bladed knives to razor blade knives, I was throwing a dozen of the blades away a day.  Then one day I ran my razor knife through the Accusharp, in two light strokes and it was sharper than a new blade.  Unless I hit a nail, one blade would last all day long.  I have four of these--one in every location where I have knives statched.  I used the one in the kitchen today and sharpened everything I was going to use for food prep this morning.  There are others out there--yellow ones--the  Accusharp works the best.   If I need really sharp, I will finish up with a ceramic rod sharpener, but usually the Accusharp is all I need.  Unless your knife has an extreme bevel, the Accusharp will sharpen most knives.  I am ordering another one today.

When I saw that Atlanta Cutlery was selling these knife sharpeners I thought "Another cheap plastic knife sharpener" but when I received it I used it on two knives I made from old files.  I was surprised how fast this little plastic knife sharpener worked and brought the blades of these knives to razor sharp. I had to go over these blades 3 or 4 times to really get a great edge!!  I was very pleased with this sharpener!!

It sharpens a blade very quickly, and it does indeed make the edge very sharp the product itself seems a bit cheap, but not flimsy. for the price i feel it's definitely worth it. i recommend this to anyone that owns a knife.

Seems to work on non serrated edges, not so good on deep serrated.

I've used this for the last couple of years, and buy them for gifts.  Wonderful and effective.  True blading requires a little extra attention, but for utility applications this will give you an extremely sharp and serviceable blade in record time.  Essential for the prepared emergency kit, hunting, and the kitchen.

This sharpener is great sharpened all my knives in about 3 minutes
